    Hafsah lives in New Market, MD with her husband Ryan and their business serves clients in the NW DC, Potomac, and Rockville areas. In addition to operating a GYMGUYZ franchise, she is also a NASM certified personal trainer. Hafsah enjoys yoga, reading, cooking and teaching friends and family how to eat and prepare healthy meals. She is also passionate about volunteering with the homeless and supporting children’s causes.

    When she was eleven, Hafsah’s family left Sri Lanka for the promise of the American Dream. She watched her parents work their way up from the bottom to having prominent careers without college degrees. Hafsah always admired her parents’ hard work and the sacrifices they made to provide for their daughters, and so, she made a promise to give back to her parents and to her community by changing lives though Entrepreneurship.

    Fitness Background
    Hafsah’s personal fitness transformation began a few years after college. Always feeling like the weakest and most unathletic kid in the room, Hafsah struggled with confidence and finding comfort in her own body throughout grade school. This continued through college and even into her young adult life as she constantly felt tired and unmotivated. Hafsah finally decided to take control of her life by exploring fitness and nutrition to live a healthier lifestyle.

    However, between having no idea where to start, working late, not wanting to leave the house after a long day and just having to put dinner on the table, Hafsah always found herself coming up with excuses to avoid going to the gym. Then she finally found what was missing! She started adding a few in-home workouts to her weekly routine and changing her eating habits. If Hafsah was able to re-energize her life just by performing these simple habits consistently, she knew she could inspire and motivate others to do the same. When the GYMGUYZ opportunity came into Hafsah's life, she knew her love of Entrepreneurship combined with health and fitness was the perfect fit for her.

    To show people how to lead a happy, healthy and fulfilling life by adapting fitness as a lifestyle and not just an activity.

    Ryan lives in New Market, MD with his wife Hafsah and their business serves clients in the NW DC, Potomac and Rockville areas. In addition to operating a GYMGUYZ franchise, he is also a NASM certified personal trainer. Ryan enjoys playing acoustic guitar, watching a Penn State game, practicing with his rugby team, or playing badminton.

    Fitness Background
    While at Penn State University, Ryan served as a Resident Assistant, mentoring young freshman students and helping them overcome the challenges of transitioning to college life. He thrived on supporting these students and helping them become their best selves as they were faced with social, emotional, and academic challenges. But as a scrawny, underweight college student, Ryan realized he was devoting more time helping others than he was working to improve himself.

    After graduating college, Ryan took up an interest in personal development and began focusing on improving himself not only mentally and emotionally, but physically as well. Soon thereafter, Ryan befriended a former personal trainer and finally began to understand what it took to build muscle and eat appropriately to meet his fitness goals. Motivation and consistency were an ongoing struggle however, as Ryan began putting in longer hours at work. It wasn’t until he began working on his personal trainer certification that he realized you don’t need big, complex equipment, pricey gym memberships, or even a lot of free time to get a great workout. Working out shouldn’t be a chore! So, when Ryan found GYMGUYZ, he knew this was the perfect business to pair his mentoring experience with his love for fitness and be able to offer something positive to the Washington DC Metro community.

    My Mission
    To create a community where the people feel energized and good about their bodies and health. Imagine the Washington DC Metro area where parents come home from work and run around with their kids rather than plopping on the couch. Or a community where its people are more concerned about which events they’re going to this week rather than which doctor’s visits they need to schedule. Fitness is the key and it all begins with one simple decision: TO GET STARTED!
