MEET THE TEAM:
Aaron Anthonsen is the owner and head coach of GYMGUYZ Peachtree, and is certified as a personal trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association. He first gained a passion for fitness while serving in the military, where he started coaching friends in his spare time. Aaron loves to challenge his clients with the GYMGUYZ methodologies, incorporating experience with individual and group strength training, boot camps, obstacle course races, circuit training, and running. Aaron earned his Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. He is a veteran, flying Navy SEAHAWK (H-60) helicopters for several years, and is still active with the Navy Reserve. When he’s not training, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, or playing guitar.
Alex Parsons earned his degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Cellular Biology from the University of Georgia. While at UGA he was a member of the football team (Go Bulldogs!) where he played running back and special teams.
Since joining GYMGUYZ, Alex continues to also serve as manager and Head Exercise Physiologist with the Delta Airlines Staff Fitness Center at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. He specializes in occupational therapy and return-to-work rehabilitation. When he’s not training clients, Alex continues to enjoy playing sports, watching football or spending time with friends and family.
Deanna Smith is an ACE certified personal trainer and worked in the fitness industry for over 8 years before joining the GYMGUYZ team. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Georgia Southwestern State University.
Deanna was a Fitness Specialist at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston, GA before launching an independent gym specializing in women's fitness that she owned and operated for over five years. Deanna believes creativity and variety in workouts is the key to success, and she loves to employ GYMGUYZ methodologies with multiple approaches including circuits, boot camps, interval training, and many others. When she's not training clients, Deanna enjoys running events and spending time with family.
Samantha Drake is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer. She earned a degree in Nutritional Science and Health from Arkansas State University. While a student at ASU, Samantha competed in intramural sports and competitive rock climbing. From a young age Samantha has been passionate about participating in a variety of sports. Now she brings that same passion to the GYMGUYZ team and looks forward to bringing a deep understanding of the importance of good nutrition and fitness to each GYMGUYZ client. She believes that "food is fuel" and that health and fitness, is about balance and variety. When she's not training clients, Samantha enjoys getting outside, watching basketball, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
Luke received his personal training certification in 2015 from the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). As a skilled GYMGUYZ coach, Luke provides a fun yet challenging workout. Personally, he believes anyone can improve their health and fitness as long as they are willing to work at it.Luke first decided to be a personal trainer after seeing the positive results of exercise in his own life as he changed his eating habits and began exercising daily. Friends and family were so impressed with his results that they wanted to workout with him! Now, Luke works with his GYMGUYZ clients to set up realistic goals that can and will be reached. Maybe you want to build or tone muscle, relieve stress or perhaps you are exercising but aren’t seeing results. Luke will educate and train you to get on the right track. His workouts are creative and customized, for each individual client, whether it’s a one-on-one or group session. He will use the GYMGUYZ tools and techniques to help reach your goals and then maintain that level of health and fitness. GYMGUYZ provides a motivating fitness program! Luke competes as a bodybuilder in his free time and volunteers in the community and in his church providing his time and talent as a lighting expert for special programs and concerts. When he finally gets to relax at the end of the day, Luke enjoys reading the latest best sellers.
Brandi joined the GYMGUYZ team in 2016 as a licensed massage therapist specializing in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Sports Massage. She is a firm believer that massage therapy is the tool to good health and wellness. Brandi earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana, and earned her license in Massage Therapy from the Atlanta School of Massage after completing 750 hours of classroom and clinical instruction. She uses her knowledge and practical experience of message therapy to make her GYMGUYZ clients feel relaxed during each hour long session. Brandi's passion is to help her clients feel better in their own skin. If you are living with pain or just need to relax and relieve some stress, you can enjoy the same massage techniques that her GYMGUYZ clients enjoy every day. Brandi will provide an awesome massage that will nourish your body and make you feel rejuvenated! Originally from south suburban Chicago, IL, Brandi is happy to be living in the warm state of Georgia since 2011. Brandi lives in Newnan with her two children and adventurous terrier. She enjoys reading, traveling, dancing and spending quality time with family.

I just want to let you know what a pleasure it is having Barry as our instructor. He’s friendly and very knowledgeable. He makes you feel comfortable and helps you when you’re unable to do some of the exercises. I certainly would like to have him as our instructor for the next session.
I just want to let you know how much I LOVE these classes! I so look forward to each class, and as of today, have not missed a session. Barry is an incredible instructor; he takes his time to explain and show you each exercise. If it’s a tad too difficult, no problem, he’ll modify. Outside of loving summertime, the outdoors, and water classes, these classes have also proven to be a big plus for me health wise. I had a Total Knee Replacement 10 months ago, and up until June, walked with the aid of a cane. I spent 7 months in Physical Therapy and taking Barry’s classes has accelerated my recovery. My legs have become stronger and I have more endurance. I also have other health issues(need surgery on my shoulder) and Barry always took time to ensure I wasn’t hurting during any routine. All I can say is, where do we go from here?????

Eleven months ago I was your typical 32 year old father of two; overweight, out of shape, and generally unmotivated to do anything about it. I figured between a two hour daily commute and 12 hour work days, I didn’t have time to work out at all. With a little prodding from my wife I decided to give a personal trainer a shot, but I was skeptical. GYMGUYZ was referred by a friend and they came over to give me my first serious workout in years. Within 2 weeks I began to feel different and look different. At the beginning I was 228 pounds and based on a series of measurements I had the equivalent body of a 68 year old. As of my last weigh, in I was 208 pounds and was I equivalent to a 30 year old. More importantly the workouts have improved how I feel, my energy level is up, and I actually look forward to the sessions now. For someone with a full work schedule, the convenience of having a home trainer who brings all the equipment can not be overstated. GYMGUYZ keeps the sessions fast paced and always incorporates new exercises and equipment. GYMGUYZ has a very positive attitude and gets the best out of his clients.
