The average person should aim to drink between half an ounce and an ounce of water per pound of body weight to stay properly hydrated. For example, an 175 pound individual should have anywhere from 87.5 ounces to 175 ounces of water per day.

Proper hydration has many benefits such as; lubricating and cushioning joints, regulating body temperature, protecting sensitive tissues, and also improves brain functioning and increases energy.

Many Americans suffer from chronic dehydration. Dehydration causes fatigue in the muscles, can lead to a decline in brain and muscular performance, and can lead to many health issues such as kidney stones and cardiovascular issues.
