Jessica
GYMGUYZ co-OWNER
Where co-owner, Shyd, is the brains behind GYMGUYZ Ventura County, Jessica is the heartbeat behind the company’s client experience.
Raised in a military family living in Germany and Japan before settling in California, Jessica learned early on the importance of connecting with people from all walks of life. Her passion for making others feel seen, supported, and cared for has been a constant throughout her journey. This passion guided her to a career in social services before she became a full-time mom to her two amazing boys.
Now, as co-owner of GYMGUYZ Ventura County, Jessica blends her love for helping others with a keen eye for detail and creativity. Her specialty lies in ensuring every client feels like more than just a name on a schedule. From the first phone call or the 50th session, she strives to make the experience engaging, fun, and personalized, and delights in finding thoughtful ways to motivate and empower—whether through check-ins or personalized encouragement.
When she’s not connecting with clients, supporting the GYMGUYZ team, or full-time Mom-ing, you can find Jessica crafting, cooking/baking, or on the pickleball court with her husband and co-owner, Shyd, and exploring new food and travel adventures with their family.
At GYMGUYZ Ventura County, Jessica helps ensure that fitness feels empowering, personal, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

Reason you became a Personal Trainer:
I have been in the fitness industry for over 5 years, I come from a background of dance, all styles and that is where my love for the movement of the human body came. From my own experiences, I dove into the fitness realm and immediately feel in love. From that point, I vowed I would share the love and passion I have and give it to someone else, who I hoped would love it just as much as me, and I am happy to say all of my clients have appreciated it in their own ways. Fitness is such an inspiring part of life and it is not just a one time deal, this is a lifestyle – one I am so happy to be a part of! Looking forward to sharing that with others! Lets go GYMGUYZ!!!

Certifications:
Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES)
Reason you became a Personal Trainer:
I grew up in the Oxnard and Ventura area and spend most my life training to be an acrobat and a gymnast. I really enjoyed pushing myself to new limits and being around others who gave their all to their art. My life shifted due to the shutdowns around 2020 and I turned from performing to helping support my fellow acrobats through training and recovery. That drive to help others grew until I made it my focus to make a difference in the lives of others. Now I’m excited to be a part of the GYMGUYZ team and help people transform their lives for the better!

Sergio
Certified Personal Trainer
Certifications:
Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Flexologist
Reason you became a Personal Trainer:
Hi, I’m Sergio Linares—a stretch therapist and personal trainer with a lifelong passion for movement, sports, and helping people feel their best. Growing up, I played just about every sport I could—soccer, basketball, football, and baseball. While I enjoyed all of them, baseball is the one I truly connected with and grew to love the most.
Over time, I found myself exploring other interests like archery, hunting, and even running a car detailing business. But the turning point in my journey came when I lost my father. Not being able to help when he was sick was one of the hardest moments of my life. That experience drove me to dedicate myself to a path where I could make a real difference in people’s lives through health, movement, and wellness.
I earned both my associate and bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology, with an emphasis in sports studies. That education gave me the tools to better understand the body and how to help people move with purpose and recover more effectively.
Now, through Flex Stretch, I specialize in assisted stretch therapy—especially techniques like PNF stretching—along with mobility and functional recovery. My goal is to help every client improve flexibility, reduce pain, move with confidence, and live more actively.
I bring positive energy to every session, and while I like to keep the vibe fun and encouraging, I always maintain a professional standard. I truly care about the people I work with, and I’m here to support you wherever you are in your movement and wellness journey.

Biography
I wanted to be a personal trainer because I think that health/wellness/fitness are all important, but unique to the individual. I personally find great joy in moving my body but I understand that joy doesn’t come naturally for everyone. I hope that I am able to bring excitement to those I work with and to show that there are so many ways to reach one’s health goals!
Hobbies & Interests:
i love to dance, hike, do yoga, go on stroles with friends, honestly if it’s with the right people I’m down for any type of movement! I also really enjoy cooking (predominately plant based cuisine) reading, and nice chill evenings watching a good show/movie with my partner and kitties 🙂
