Plainview-based GYMGUYZ, a mobile physical training concept, has signed its first franchisee.

Sam Langer, a former project sports planner for ESPN, has purchased the GYMGUYZ franchise for 14 territories in Westchester County, according to company CEO and founder Josh York.

Details of the deal weren’t disclosed, though a GYMGUYZ franchise can cost from $49,000 to $92,500 depending on the size of the territory.

For their investment, GYMGUYZ franchisees get a van equipped with fitness equipment, proprietary management software, a local phone number and a website. New franchisees get three days of training at GYMGUYZ headquarters and two days of on-site training at their locations.

With its new franchisee, GYMGUYZ now covers 18 territories throughout the New York metropolitan area.

York, who started the business in his parents’ New Hyde Park dining room five years ago said the company is currently offering territories in areas of Suffolk, as well as in other parts of the region.
