TRENDS TO TRY: WORK OUT DURING YOUR LUNCH BREAK!

If you work in an office setting, you might notice that more and more of your coworkers are leaving the building for their lunch breaks. And even if they aren’t, you should. Here’s why:

We all like to be trendy— at least to a certain extent, right? Many people are turning to their lunch break as the best time to work out. At first glance, you might think, “Why would I want to give up my lunch break to get sweaty?” And then, you think about it: the other options are to wake up even earlier than you already do to get a rushed workout in before you head off to work, or to begrudgingly get that exercise after your long day at the office when you just want to go home and relax. If one of these alternatives is already working for you, stick with it! But if you’re looking to change it up or begin a new routine altogether, the lunch-break workout doesn’t sound so bad. This is what people throughout the workforce are beginning to realize, and many are taking action.

Even better is the fact that getting exercise increases your energy levels and makes your brain more active. So while your stationary coworkers hit that mid-day slump, you’ll be coming back from your workout with a fresh new look at what lies ahead of you. GYMGUYZ can make it even easier on you— we bring the workout to you, so you can meet us wherever you feel like it. You feel like working out at the park down the street from where you work? Sure, we’ll meet you there. Feel like going home to work out in the privacy of your humble abode? Sure, we’ll meet you there. (Bonus: You can check the mail and let the dog out while you’re at it). Your employer wants us to come to the office and do a class for the whole building? Sure, we’ll meet all of you there, and you won’t even have to leave the building. Whatever works best for you is what works best for us.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you plan ahead. Put the workout into your calendar to solidify your commitment to getting it done. Bring your workout gear to work with you (read: in a workout bag that doesn’t stink up the whole office); and make sure you eat a well-balanced breakfast and lunch prior to your workout. Proteins and carbohydrates (especially whole-grains) are definitely things you want to incorporate into these meals so that you’re fueled up!

The workday can be mundane and dismal. You deserve time to yourself, both before and after work, so if the lunchtime routine to get your heart rate up sounds appealing to you, give it a shot! Remember that any workout is better than no workout, so as long as you’re making the time for it, do what works for you— and be sure to let us know how we can help.
