GYMGUYZ EXPANDS WITH 16 NEW TERRITORIES & BUSINESS-BOOSTING VIRTUAL SERVICES

Given that GYMGUYZ was created during the economic crisis of 2008, it should come as no surprise that our franchise is growing and innovating even in this time of economic concern. Our business model is built on bringing the workout to wherever our customers are, and social distancing in the time of COVID-19 doesn’t change that core concept. GYMGUYZ has always been focused on delivering effective, convenient workouts, and we have risen to the challenge of supporting our franchise owners and helping them continue to do that while remaining safe and successful. We have also welcomed several new franchise owners to the GYMGUYZ family in the first quarter and started them on the path to prosperity.

Q1 GROWTH INCLUDES 16 NEW TERRITORIES & INDUSTRY RECOGNITION

GYMGUYZ added to our more than 250 personal training franchise units by welcoming eight new franchise owners to the family who cover 16 new territories.

During the first quarter of 2020, we’re pleased to see GYMGUYZ bring mobile—and now, virtual—fitness to new territories throughout:

  • Charlotte, NC
  • Greensboro, NC
  • Delray Beach, FL
  • Naples, FL
  • Fort Lauderdale, FL
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Oakville, ON, Canada

We’re proud of this growth and the value of our franchise opportunity, and have been honored with several industry awards and accolades already this year. Entrepreneur Magazine included GYMGUYZ on its annual lists of Fastest-Growing Franchises and Top Franchises to Buy Under $100,000, and we were ranked second on Franchise Gator’s Fastest-Growing Franchises of 2020. We are excited and optimistic for the future, with plans to open more than 100 new locations globally over the next year.

CREATIVE STRATEGIES & PIVOTING TO DIGITAL SERVICES

“What COVID-19 has allowed us to do is go back to our roots and be the scrappy, proactive company that does what it takes to get through hard times. We quickly shifted our core business model to provide support to our franchise owners and a resource for people who need to exercise even when social distancing,” says GYMGUYZ founder Josh York.

Our brand has always been the solution for people who don’t want to go to the gym—and now we’re also the solution for those who can’t. We have developed a creative and strategic approach to growing and maintaining business for our franchise owners, going completely digital with virtual personal training sessions, weekly workouts streamed via Facebook Live, and specialized exercise equipment available for clients to borrow so they can safely continue to work out at home.

We have also created a Workout Migration Program for people who are temporarily unable to use their existing gym and fitness program memberships. Franchise owners have the option of participating, and those who do provide incentives to be used for remote personal training services while closures and restrictions remain in place.

Once restrictions begin to lift, many of these new strategies and services will remain as part of the GYMGUYZ offerings. “Regardless of the current crisis, GYMGUYZ will continue offering virtual services, and my guess is that, similarly, many in the fitness space are identifying new and creative ways to maintain their revenue streams,” says York. Our franchise owners, by and large, are holding onto and even growing their client base right now, which makes sense given that exercise is among the most effective ways to boost the immune system and cope with stress.

“It’s like sitting down for a delicious brownie sundae,” explains York. “Once you take a bite, you need to take another. People are getting a taste of our service and will keep coming back for more, because they know what it’s like to have a convenient, customized, and creative workout wherever they please.”
