  • Adebola

    GYMGUYZ Owner

    Favorite Quote: Many quotes I love but this one is fitness related. "If it was easy...everybody would do it." Fitness Background: Adebola was an athlete growing up and after he stopped competing in college he started exercising other ways to stay in shape. After he graduated he started doing more research about the most optimal ways to work out and how proper nutrition plays a large part. Even though he worked in a very corporate Engineering and Manufacturing organization, he was fortunate enough to be able to share this at work. In 2012 he helped start up the Aloha site group fitness program and his ‘coaching’ ranges from leading corporate fitness classes to coaching elite youth basketball. He has designed and led workouts for multiple age groups (from 5 to 55+) and believes that almost anyone can partake in this style of training and it can be modified for any fitness level to improve work and every day life. My Mission: Adebola has a two-fold passion… 1. To help and improve the life of others and 2. Health, fitness, and sports. He knows first hand how a good workout regimen can improve the life of corporate (office dwelling) employees and is now sharing this knowledge with many others. He hopes to help make the Portland/Vancouver metro area a healthier place and to drive GYMGUYZ being a household name while doing it. Children: Daughter is finishing up her junior year and son is finishing up his freshman year in HS. They play multiple sports including soccer, track & field, football, baseball, and basketball.     Certified Personal Trainer

    Fitness Background: Daniel is the Social Media Marketing Specialist of GYMGUYZ SW Portland. He graduated with his bachelors of Science in Business: Marketing in March of 2017. After a season of job seeking and transitioning, he’s thrilled to have joined the Portland branch of a global tech company as an Inside Channel Sales Specialist. He is also a proud husband and avid musician and singer / songwriter. He’s always carried a compassion for people and helping others find a sense of purpose and identity. It’s his love for people and content creation that led Daniel to coming on board with GYMGUYZ as a social marketing expert. He’s excited to raise brand awareness for GYMGUYZ SW Portland and more importantly to help change lives in the process. Favorite Fitness Activities: Daniel has always loved being active in sports and outdoors, from co-leading a tennis team in high school to road biking 104 miles to the beach from SW Portland – if he’s honest though, 50 miles is enough.

  • Matt

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Fitness Background: Matt started his career in the fitness industry while in college, working at the Appalachian State University fitness center. After graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice a year later, he continued to work as a personal trainer. He opened his own private training studio in 2007. After eight years, he sold the company and has continued to work as a certified personal trainer in the Portland metro area. Specializing in H.I.T. (High Intensity Training), he has conducted over 40,000 one-on-one personal training sessions. Fitness Certification - AFAA Certified Personal Trainer - Precision Nutrition Level 1 - F.I.R.S.T. (Focused Intensity Resistance Slow Training) - FMS (Functional Movement Specialist) Level 1 Certification - Titleist Performance Institute Certified (TPI) - AED/CPR Certified Favorite Fitness Activities: Matt is adept at crafting individualized fitness programs to make sure his clients get optimal results quickly and safely. When he’s not helping people become their best, he enjoys spending time hiking in the Northwest, cooking healthy food, as well as keeping up on the latest fitness trends and information.

  • Lisa

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Lisa has worked as a professional fitness trainer for the last 11 years, in the NYC, Westchester County, Connecticut area, in Oregon, and more recently Virtually all over the country.. She’s worked with diverse populations, having successfully trained clients new to fitness and as far progressed as triathletes. Every program is based on a clients individual goals, and fitness level, incorporating cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility. Lisa works with a variety of equipment and modes, including HIIT body weight sessions.

    Lisa recently relocated to Oregon from the Northeast, where her lengthy career was mainly focused on in-home training, although she had the benefit of working alongside a Physical Therapist in NY. Interval Training, Core Strength Training and Body Sculpting are her specialties. Lisa has a BA in Psychology and Communications, and certifications from AAPT, TRX l & ll, AFAA, CPR /AED. She’s a published author and her hobbies are rollerblading, nutrition, the study of energy healing and painting. Lisa’s philosophy is, “Wherever you are today, is not where you are going to be in a month of committed effort. Just start.”

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Fitness Background: Clinton Burke comes to us by way of NPTI and is also NASM certified. He has trained at both big box gyms and private training studios and his clients love him. He is constantly expanding his knowledge and aligns well with our GYMGUYZ philosophy of ABL (Always Be Learning). He has trained kids to senior clients Activities You Do To Stay in Shape: Clinton likes to stay fit by being active, working out, and doing construction and painting on the side.

  • Erin

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Erin is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and has her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. She loves all forms of exercise, whether that’s going for a run, resistance training, at home circuits or enjoying the outdoors on a hike. Erin is passionate about helping others improve themselves through healthy lifestyle changes. She has experience working with clients of all ages and creates programs that are specific to clients’ goals. With her high energy, creativity and encouraging personality, Erin will help you accomplish your goals while enjoying the process.

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Michael K is committed to and continues to grow as a trainer. He has trained at big box, small gyms, outside, and virtually everywhere already. His even keel personality allows him to stay consistent for his clients no matter what they throw at him. He has trained power lifters, working moms, teens, morbidly obese, and many other types of clients.

  • Stephen

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Stephen holds a nationally accredited certificate degree in Fitness Instruction from UCLA. He is a certified personal trainer and member of the National Strength Conditioning Association NSCA-CPT. He is an accomplished fitness professional with over a decade of personal training and industry experience. His training primarily consists of building muscle, weight-loss, strength training and HIIT.

    Stephen is also a former men’s physique competitor and enjoys working with clients from all walks of life. His hobbies include reading, cooking, playing basketball and watching movies with friends and family.

  • Steven

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Steven relocated to Portland from New Jersey and has always been interested in fitness and the human body as well as being a big fan of soccer and mixed martial arts. He became a trainer after leaving his bank job because he had a strong desire to help people become healthier versions of themselves. He has his B.S. in Exercise Science (William Paterson University) also has his NASM Certified Personal Trainer cert. While attending university, he worked full time as a trainer helping clients reach all their goals such as weight loss, improving movement/range of motion, and/or personal records on weightlifting. Over the years he has developed great relationships with clients and they often partake in events such as 5Ks and Tough Mudder races. Steven enjoys seeing clients overcome the obstacles needed for people to improve their lifestyle. Along with improving physical health, using movement is one of his ways to help clients improve their mental health as well.

  • Tuesday

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Tuesday is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Group Instructor. She has grown up in the health, wellness, and fitness lifestyle with her family supporting and participating in the fitness lifestyle. Through her youth, she spent her time in swimming, taekwondo, cheerleading, and dance. In recent years she practices yoga, boxing, H.I.I.T, resistance training, TRX, strength training, hypertrophy, and balance/flexibility training. Tuesday has worked with a range of clients from teens to seniors, athletic to injured, anorexic to obese.

    Tuesday is enthusiastic, compassionate, determined, and excited to help you meet your personal goals! In her free time, she enjoys paddle boarding, roller-skating, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors in the great PNW.

  • Dennis

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Dennis is an ISAA certified personal trainer with three additional certifications on the horizon: NASM, NCSF & CrossFit L1. Dennis did not implement his unwavering love and dedication to fitness at a young age. For over 20 years, Dennis lived well over 200lbs while peaking at over 400lbs. Dennis’s story (including >200 lb weight loss) is inspiring and motivating, and he brings that to his clients. Ask him about it when you have time. Now he loves ultramarathon running and is an avid CrossFit athlete! Dennis plans to help train as many clients as possible, all coming from different walks of life, with GYMGUYZ!

  • Carly

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Carly is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2008. Her love for fitness started before that when she lost 40 pounds with help from a personal trainer. Fitness and nutrition became so much a part of her life that she decided to help others make healthy lifestyle changes. Carly took on personal training as a second career in addition to working as a television news reporter in the broadcast news industry. She has helped dozens of clients lose weight, lean out, and crush goals! Carly enjoys high intensity interval training and group fitness herself. She is a certified POUND Pro. POUND Fitness is a group fitness cardio drumming workout choreographed to music. Carly has a growth mindset and regularly reads self-help books. She also loves competing in dog agility with her dogs, playing golf, and traveling to new destinations.

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Anthony is a Pacific Northwest native that loves fitness and nature, especially when they come together. He is a NASM CPT, a certified Group Fitness Instructor with the AFAA and a Movement and Mobility Specialist through The Ready State. Anthony’s emphasis in his own training centers around body-weight skills and functional movement. This usually includes things like handstands, rock climbing, cycling and other low equipment training methods. He began to train himself years ago and has since sought to give the same gift of fitness to others. Anthony’s understanding and practice in his own training and learning has produced the fruit of creative goal setting and effective programming. Anthony also adheres to a holistic fitness approach that takes both the mind and the body into account when assessing fitness goals.

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Lucas is an ACE Certified PT, Group Fitness Instructor, Senior Fitness specialist, and Sports Nutritionist. As a competitive athlete, competing in boxing and training to run in the Olympics, he values holistic health and wellness regimens. Working with clients age14-99, he has seen it all and helped hundreds of people reach their fitness goals. His philosophy is to approach each person as an individual, providing a complete, realistic, fun program catered to you.

  • Umoja

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Umoja is a NASM CPT He is passionate about helping others achieve their goals. His energy and attention to corrective yet engaging exercise is a great match for our GYMGUYZ clients. He knows how to push clients while making it fun. He has experience training in big box gyms, local community centers, homes, retirement communities, parks, etc. He is also a full time carpenter and electrician as well.

  • Lex

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Lex has dual bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness Specialist as well as Nutrition and will soon be a NASM CPT. Fitness and being active has always been a part of her life. She was a multi-sport athlete growing up and continued her athletic career at the collegiate level (track and basketball). Her passion for fitness became stronger after she tore her ACL in 2016. She wanted to help others engage in a healthy lifestyle, overcome personal obstacles, and achieve their fitness goals.

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Kendall is an ACE CPT. She is also a former D1 athlete (swimming) and her passion has always been fitness. She believes everyone deserves to be happy and healthy and she loves to help people reach their goals in the simplest and most realistic way possible. She knows that exercise and fitness can be extremely overwhelming with all of the different information out there. However, you are not alone and she is here to help.

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Rebecca is a fun, energetic, and passionate trainer. She grew up dancing, and partaking in extreme sports. She's a single parent who loves staying active with her daughter, and teaching her daughter how to build a strong healthy body as well. Rebecca is fueled by her appreciation for the human body and all it does for us, and loves to geek out on the mind - body connection! She brings a holistic perspective to fitness, and excels in assisting clients in creating sustainable wellness habits that fit their lifestyle!

  • Anthony

    Certified Personal Trainer

    Anthony is a NASM certified personal trainer (since 2015) with the experience needed to motivate clients through traditional and unconventional training methods. He has trained in multiple areas including body weight, free weights, kettlebells, steel mace, TRX, and more. He has been called "a fantastic coach and flow master" by the kettlebell and steel mace company Set for Set, and a passionate, motivational, and fun coach with a great sense of humor by his clients.  It is his passion to help each client figure out their goals, both short- and long-term, and then see that they achieve them. He has worked with postpartum mothers, breakdancers, competitive powerlifters, and everyone in between. He is creative about utilizing anything and everything at his disposal to make every workout interesting and effective.
