MEET OUR TEAM OF PERSONAL TRAINERS IN LEHIGH VALLEY

Brian Toonder

GYMGUYZ OWNER

I was introduced to physical fitness early in life when my father took me to the gym down the road.  When I started college, I began working out regularly and enjoying the benefits and feeling of staying in shape during a time when it would have been all too easy to do the opposite.

After graduating, I joined a gym staffed exclusively by trainers with degrees in physiology and began to understand the importance of how to work out properly and not cause unintentional injury.  Around the same time, I began practicing yoga and developed an appreciation for means of wellness other than weight training. Ever since, I have taken the opportunity to help others understand the lessons I have learned.

I am enthusiastic about the opportunity that GYMGUYZ offers and look forward to bringing fitness and wellness to others in my community by reaching younger people who may be uncomfortable going to the gym, as well as older adults who need assistance to stay fit and mobile, and improving the health of people of all ages through physical wellness. I want to make safe and innovative fitness programs accessible to everyone, desire to create a healthier future for each person, and see GYMGUYZ as the perfect way to do that.

Allen Davis

Personal Training Manager

Greetings.  I’m Allen Davis, a former Nittany Lion athlete, Team USA powerlifter, Strength and Conditioning Coach at Cedar Crest College, and owner of The One You, LLC.  I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the fitness community and look forward to continuing to help people attain their health and fitness goals through training and nutrition, which promote overall well-being.

As the owner of The One You, I was voted Best Personal Trainer, Best Massage Therapist, and Best Gym (shared with partner) by Lehigh Valley Style magazine in 2007.  I am also in the Lehigh Valley Recreational Sports Hall of Fame as a personal trainer.

I am passionate about mentoring youth on seizing opportunities, the importance of preparation, and fostering a flexible mindset.  At Cedar Crest College I trained all 11 team sports athletes, allowing for a significant transformation of the varsity teams by enabling them to compete more effectively and ultimately qualifying for regional and national competitions.

Being a Penn State Athlete holds deep significance for me.  I hold immense love and respect for the athletes who preceded me and have a special affinity for Penn State football and the entire community of fans and alumni.

While I did not make it to the Olympics, I achieved significant milestones such as participating in The Goodwill Games in Russia and representing Team East vs. Team West in Hawaii.

I am also an author. My works include “Dirty Money on The Trail” and the upcoming book “A Glimpse Into Greatness, The One You”.

Tim Carrigan

Personal Trainer

I grew up in the Lehigh Valley playing youth sports, including baseball and soccer, before transitioning to cross country and track in high school. I continued this love for running in college competing as a sprinter for York College. After leaving the competitive collegiate world, I still felt a desire to improve and compete and found CrossFit where I trained, competed, and coached for 7 years.

While I have moved away from the CrossFit realm, I continue to train in my home gym and share my passion via social media. My passion for training and helping others achieve their fitness goals has always driven me and led me to obtain my personal training certification with specialty certifications in running and strength and conditioning.
