THREE FOOLPROOF WAYS TO SET FITNESS RESOLUTIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR AND ACTUALLY CRUSH THEM.

It’s that time of the year again. That time when just about everyone you know is rocking their new gym sneakers ready to transform their fitness in one way or another. Maybe they’ll set out to run a marathon, join a fitness competition, or just simply try to lose weight – one thing is certain: without an effective and sustainable strategy in place, it’s not happening.

First things first, you don’t have to wait until Jan. 1st to start and, you don’t have to start by Jan. 1st! The most important thing is that you understand your “why” and you reflect on what it is you’re truly looking to attain from your fitness goals. Once you’ve got that figured out, do it at a time when things are settled in your life, and you have the focus and will power to commit to something new.

Be realistic. At first your goals should be some-what easy and within reach of what you’re doing. Create small wins to build the confidence to keep going and make it to the larger goal. Instead of thinking you’ll make it to the gym for an hour each day, try 20-minute workouts a couple times a week at first. Having success early on will make it more likely that you’ll stay on your fitness journey.

Lastly, use your resources. Use the pros and make it easy on yourself! A lot of people don’t have the knowledge required to really make a change in their fitness, and that’s okay. Instead of getting discouraged because of this hire a fitness professional, like an in-home personal trainer, who can help you understand how to set a foundation of healthy habits. This will ultimately make a true difference in your lifestyle and lead you to your fitness goals over time. Even better, they’ll do it in the comfort of your own home.
